The main attraction to go and see scarlet ibis come in to roost at dusk. It is quite an experience! You need to get a boat that will take you through waterways in the mangroves where you will see a number of birds en route and maybe a few creepy crawlies as well. Bring your binoculars and a decent camera.

Excellent safe experience with Navin from Kalpooā€™s Tours. The booking service was efficient. Navin was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Our entire party of 6 had a fantastic time and enjoyed the magical scenery. The delicious complimentary pineapple chow was an added bonus. Would highly recommend!

With Lester as our guide we enjoyed an amazing trip through the swamps and to the spectacular view point to watch the scarlet ibis come home to roost. Lester was amazing at spotting the birds and wildlife. We saw all three varieties of kingfisher, blue heron, masked cardinal, tropical screech owls, yellow oreole and the 2 boas. We would highly recommend Lester, his company and tours. Thank you so very much.

This was a last minute decision for us as part of a day trip to Trinidad (staying in Tobago).
We were not sure what to expect but it was absolutely brilliant, a definite trip to take if you can.
A flat bottom boat slowly motored up the channel & through the mangroves with a very knowledgeable guide. He pointed out snakes hanging on branches, tiny crabs, little owls and many other birds, our guide also explained the different types of plants & their uses.
At sunset we were stationery to watch the 1000’s of scarlett ibis roost in the trees as well as large white herons.
Highly recommended trip, take a camera, we only had phones which don’t do the tour justice .
